…and these were taken outside right after she twirled.  I secretly want her baby doll, but I think stealing from a three year old is frowned upon.  Her mama bought it to sit on her dresser in her new big girl room.  It was not to be played with.  Guess who won that battle? :) The doll is reeeeaally old and falling apart (why I love it so) and was found in the attic of an old house a woman used to live in.  It was the woman’s doll when she was little. Love love things that have stories attached to them.

…and can you see Ayla was not amused in the least.  She gave us a good ten minutes and then she was done.   I cannot wait until the grass is green and lush again.  The sun has been out in full force though and I’m getting an itch for flare! Stay tuned…

These were taken in my room at my parent’s house. I love this room. It has a huge window that lets in tons of light and everything is white.  I remember my father showing me this room when they were building their house…and then telling me there was no tub in the original plans…but he was putting one in so I could take bubble baths.  It makes my heart happy to be in this house. In this room. With the bubble bath tub.

It had been five months since I had seen my Ayla.  Since I was very pregnant over the holidays, we didn’t get to travel back to Minnesota for the holidays.  She has grown so much, but is still so teeny tiny with an extra large personality.  She is a girly girl and continued to ask me to apply more Barbie lip gloss and sparkly eye shadow for her.  She loves this room as much as I do…especially when her auntie tells her she can twirl on the bed. Her mama bought her that vintage slip dress. Isn’t it pretty?

It felt good to have my camera back in my hands again….right where it should be…

2012 has already flown by way too fast. My little Crosby will be 8 weeks this Saturday and we are loving every minute with both of our boys!

… a note to say I am opening up my 2012 schedule again.  I will be booking limited sessions for the next few months and then fully opening up my schedule for the rest of the year.  I have a lot planned for this year that I’m super excited about. I can’t wait to get out and start shooting again.  I also have a tentative list of locations I’ll be at this year.  I don’t have specific dates for all locations as of yet, but will continue to post updates as everything gets finalized.  If you see a location near you below and would like to book a session, please contact me at: krysta@krystamanthe.com for more information.  Locations are listed below:

Marfa, TX

San Diego, CA

Newport Beach,  CA

Sessions will be a bit different this year as I’m really working on creating stylized sessions for all of my clients. This is a collaboration between myself and my clients to create personalized sessions that represent your style and taste and still give you something unique and different than everyone else…something I’m really happy about and is so important to me as an artist.

Stay tuned for more info…I’ll be updating as details get finalized in this crazy life of ours!

Much Love,

Krysta

Appropriately titled simply because her daddy started strumming Adele’s “Rollin’ In The Deep” on his guitar and this little darling started tapping her foot, bopping her head, and singing along to every single word.  It was pretty much the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and heard.  I wish you could hear her voice. I’m kicking myself as I wasn’t thinking fast enough to switch my camera to video mode.  We tried to get her to sing it again, but the show was over. :)

As soon as I walked up to their car and saw her standing there in her little yellow glasses, my heart fell to the floor.  Seriously. Serioouusssllyy.  Yellow daisy glasses?  …and those blonde curls? I can’t even stand it.  I think it’s so cute that her mama bought her a doll with matching yellow glasses. They are indeed the cutest pair I ever did see.

…and that summer sunshine?  It can come back any day now.  This anti-winter girl is ready.

Teirney, Leah, and Kaydence – thank you for a beautiful evening and an amazing serenade. Adele would be proud! :)

Much Love,

Well, well, well…hello!! It’s been awhile! I have been busy soaking up every second with my little love.  He’s giving me a few moments though while he snoozes so I’m learning to get as much done as possible in a short amount of time. Multi-tasking at its finest!

As you can see, this session wasn’t taken in the past few weeks. It’s actually from the end of summer and meant a lot to me.  Hannah, the oldest, was actually my first photo shoot almost ten years ago.  Her mom was one of my teachers in high school…one of those teachers you idolize…one who makes a difference.  Hannah was only about nine months old at the time and we did the session under an old tree in my parent’s backyard.  I shot the session on film and spent hours making prints and enlargements in my dark room in the basement.  Years later, we met again…this time with her brother and sister in tow (who are also twins)…and how gorgeous are the three of them?

Hannah, Sophie, and Isaac – thank you for such a fun evening.  The three of you are just as gorgeous as your mama.  I can’t wait to get your pretty faces in front of my lens again…

Much Love,

Krysta xo
