Pt. 1

Tracie.   A lover of the same craft – photography.

She was nervous. So was I.  Everything was to be perfect. And different.

I walked in a stranger, but we parted as friends.

There are so many more photos and words to share, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it all at once. They’re all beautiful in their own way…

She looks like she stepped straight out of Lula Magazine.

* Did I mention she has four children? And gorgeous hair. :) *

Pt 2. coming soon…

Tracie – I am so so lucky to have met you and so thankful I did. Thank you for a beautiful afternoon…

Much Love,

Krysta

Dearest Mama,

At 29, one of my most favorite places on earth, still, is sitting at the end of your bed talking about the day’s events or snuggling in on Papa’s side and watching HGTV.  I still can’t perfect buttered toast like you used to make for us when we were little.  It never ever tastes the same no matter how hard I try.  I still feel like the funniest person in the world when I’m in your presence…although I believe my antics are something only a mother can truly love and appreciate. :)  I still remember you consistently telling me I was beautiful while growing up…even in my (very) awkward years.  I still admire the fact that you raised two children without  ever raising your voice.  I still marvel at your capacity to keep giving of yourself while never expecting anything in return.  I am continuously in awe of the way you love – endlessly.  Your strength astounds me.  …and our world…it looks so much different now.  But You.  You are the one who continues to paint me pictures of the beauty it held before.  It is you who reminds me that we are still lucky. Still blessed. Still loved. Still hold the ability to do beautiful things in this world.  You are the mama I have always wanted to be and the mama I hope I am.  Thank you just doesn’t seem enough…

I love you I love you I love you I do.

Your Cowcie xo

…it’s how I would describe Michael every time we take him to Chicago. It seems as though his little heart is just bubbling over with wonder and curiosity and excitement and utter fondness for the city his daddy and I love so much.  I mean, we live in the city, but Chicago is different.  Every time we go there, we talk of the day that might come when we can call it our home.   So for my birthday weekend, my boys spoiled me with a weekend getaway to Chicago.  It was nice to escape and just soak in the love of our little family.  We stayed right on Michigan Avenue and enjoyed the best the city has to offer – Magnificent Mile shopping, deep dish pizza, Sweet Mandy B’s cupcakes, Navy Pier…along with the hustle and bustle that is Chicago….the cabs, the noise, the energy.  Here are just a few happy snaps of our weekend.  As we were driving out of the city Mikey said aloud, “Goodbye Chicago. I hope I get to see you again very very very very soon!”  I could not agree more.

Much Love,

Krysta
