Luka conned me into going outside to color with his sidewalk chalk. It was 39 degrees out.

This was the reaction I received when I told him I could no longer feel my fingers so it was time to go inside.

Thank God for little people. Seriously. These two brought a bright and much needed light into our week. And Luka. Oh our little Luka. My brother called to tell us what Luka said when he told him that Grandma Florentine had gone to heaven. As follows:

Nathan: Luka, remember Grandma Thomson?
Luka: Yup!
Nathan: Well, she went to see Boppa.
Luka: (furrowed brow) Where?
Nathan: In heaven.
Luka: (pondering….pause….) Whoa! That sounds like fun!!
If only I could see the world the way the wee ones do. :)

I apologize for the long hiatus. I had a little talk with God on the ride home today and told him that I really hope with all my heart that this is it for a long long long long time.

Much love today,
Krysta

*From an old post*

My Grandma left us early this morning just two days after her 94th birthday. And yes, while she has lived life to its absolute fullest in her 94 years, it doesn’t make the heartbreak any less. I have no words. The only thing that brings me comfort today is to know that my father, with his strong and gentle hands, was there to welcome her home…

She is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, inside and out. She is also one of the most selfless, giving people I have ever met. She has been a true gift for my family during our journey in this new world. There were days shortly after my dad left that I wasn’t quite sure how I would drag myself out of bed and face the day. Kelly would come over, get me up, help me make the bed, make sure I looked presentable and drive me to work. She has certainly seen me in my lowest of lows. She sends my mother care packages and cards that have my mom belly laughing. You don’t know how much of a blessing it is to hear your mother, in the midst of grief, laugh uncontrollably. Little things become big blessings I assure you. She has sat with me in moments where the tears came full force with no signs of stopping. There were times when words were nowhere to be found, but she listened. For as long as I needed her to, she listened. She is also how I start my every day. We are fortunate to work together so every morning, coffee in hand, we chat before we do anything else. My mother calls her an angel. I would have to agree…God sent us a sweet gift named Kelly.
…and an incredibly gorgeous gift at that! :)
Much love to you Kel today and always,
Krysta

Michael got a new fedora which he adores, but I think I adore it even more. The child is a little urbanite and an incredibly cute one at that!

It’s late. I’m tired. We have a four year who is bouncing off the walls. I am short on words today. So, I’ll end by saying I hope you all have a happy and blessed Easter!

One of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. I wish there was a better video available, but this is as good as it gets. I have been listening to it non-stop today…

That’s all I have for Monday! I have a couple of fun shoots this weekend so stay tuned…
