Well, here we are. Two posts in one day. Two posts in one day because Brady and I didn’t get to fly home to Minnesota today. The fog decided to roll in and orchestrate our day. There’s just something about two thousand crabby people delayed in an airport wanting to get home to their families that doesn’t spell out Christmas. I called my parents in tears telling them we would have to see them tomorrow. BUT low and behold, my Brady knows exactly what I need when I need it and actually made the day a special one. I don’t normally post pictures of myself, but I had to post a visual of how happy he made me today in spite of a crappy situation!
The Milwaukee Art Museum above was barely noticeable in the actual picture I took. I really had to work with it to even make it appear in the midst of the fog!
I hear a plane fly above as I type this so I’m hoping that’s a good sign.
Merry Christmas all!

Well, we leave for Minnesota tomorrow to spend time with my family and I can’t wait! My dad left me in tears the other day when I called to see what he and my mom wanted for Christmas. He said he was going to put bows on his kids and grandkids this year as he thinks they are his truest blessings. I melted.
So, here’s wishing everyone a happy and Merry Christmas and may you remember what your truest blessings are this holiday season!

Warmest wishes from our winter wonderland!

Brady, Krysta, and Mikey

When I was in Chicago, I had to pay a visit to my favorite store – Shabby Chic! The name itself makes me giddy. Low and behold, look what they had…my very own ornament…crown and all.

…and of course Michael had to have something to put “waaaayy up high on the tree…”

…and Brady too…
Well, the time has finally come. Every since I was a little girl, I can remember going to my Grandma’s house for Christmas and falling in love with her silver tinsel tree over and over again each year. It sat in the same corner every year with it’s very own revolving light changing the color of its branches. I “oooooo’d” and “awwwwwed” over this tree for years HOPING that one day it might be mine. SO, here it is! I am now the proud owner of a 1967 vintage tinsle tree. My Grandma marched her petite little body to the attic and carried it down herself in the original box with the original instructions might I ad. The branches were even individually wrapped in the same paper sleeves they came in. I couldn’t believe it! So, if you stop by our house this year, you won’t find twinkling lights or smell the pine of a Christmas tree, but you will find the retro tinsel tree that I have been yearning for all of these years. Notice the slight lean too…Brady and I tried time and time again to make it stand straight, but it insisted on leaning to the left. I finally decided that we’re a little crazy so our tree might as well be too!
Here’s wishing you all a happy and blessed holiday season!
Grandma T – THANK YOU so much for giving me this tree. You have no idea how much it means to me. I love you!
