I love the sun glare on this pic…it looks like an angel is flying through the balloons!
I’m not sure what my deal is, but this whole week I have been a night owl! It’s kind of nice for a change though. So I know I’ll have to explain these next pictures. I have been posting some of my pictures on flickr and last week I was on for hours cruising around the site, looking at other photographer’s pics, getting ideas, etc. when I stumbled upon a photographer from Brisbane – Sheye Rosemeyer. I immediately fell in love with her pics, her style, and her photoblog. Her pictures are absolutely amazing. Well, on her photoblog was a link to a website for her daughter Ava’s memorial. Little Ava was just 3 years old when she passed away in February. She was bouncing back and forth between her house and her grandparent’s house which was just 10 meters away when she slipped into the family car to hide. It was a hot day and by the time they found her it was too late. As I read her story, I sat at my computer and sobbed. The way her Mom wrote about Ava and her short time on earth just broke my heart. Ava LOVED the color pink so as a tribute to her, people from all different parts of the world let 3 pink balloons (one for every year of her life) soar up to Ava in Heaven. There were 3 pages of pink balloon photographs. I was so moved by this family and their story that I HAD to get pink balloons for Ava. So today, my friend Stacy and I let go of pink balloons for Ava and here are some of the pictures. The sunlight was beautiful today – just perfect for Ava’s pink balloons. It was so peaceful to watch the balloons soar away and as they did I prayed that God would watch over the Rosemeyer family and of course little Ava, who is probably dancing on her pink cloud! So Ava, here are suprises for you today! To light a candle for the Rosemeyer family, you can go to: http://avarosemeyer.memory-of.com/
